Ijoba Lande Retracts Claim, Says Funke Akindele Paid Him N190,000 – Not N90,000
Nollywood actor and comedian Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has corrected an earlier claim that he was underpaid by renowned filmmaker Funke Akindele for his role in one of her productions.
In a fresh video shared on Friday, Lande stated that he was actually paid N190,000, not N90,000 as previously alleged. He explained that the confusion arose from a poorly edited version of his initial video, which omitted his clarification.
“Funke Akindele gave me N190,000, not N90,000,” he said in Yoruba. “Please help me beg Aunty Funke. There was a mix-up in my earlier video. It was cut-and-join. I didn’t mean to defame you.”
The actor pleaded for forgiveness from Akindele, saying he had no intention of tarnishing her reputation and urged the public not to misunderstand his comments.
“People posted the part where I made a mistake and ignored the full version where I corrected it. Please forgive me. I don’t want to go to jail,” he added.
The clarification comes after Lande faced backlash for his initial remarks, which sparked conversations about payment structures and transparency in Nollywood productions.
