I’m More Than Just Wizkid’s Baby Mama – Jada Pollock
Jada Pollock, talent manager and mother of two of Wizkid’s children, has expressed her frustration over being reduced to the label of “baby mama,” a term she says overlooks her professional accomplishments.
In an interview with BET UK, Pollock shared her challenges in being recognized for her own work rather than solely for her relationship with the Afrobeat superstar.
Recalling a specific instance, she highlighted how her celebration of Afrobeat’s growth during Wizkid’s Grammy win was overshadowed by reductive headlines.
“When Wizkid won a Grammy, I wrote a statement about how far Afrobeat has come,” she said. “They published it, but the caption read, ‘Wizkid’s baby mama.’ It diminishes my role as an entrepreneur and hardworking businesswoman. I’m not just a mother—I’m also a manager who has contributed to building a legacy.”
Pollock and Wizkid began their relationship in 2014, welcoming their first child, Zion, in 2017, and a second son, AJ, in 2022. Beyond her personal life, Pollock has played a significant role in managing Wizkid’s career and contributing to the global rise of Afrobeat.
Her comments have sparked discussions about the portrayal of women in the entertainment industry and the need to recognize their individual achievements.
