‘I’m Not Perfect’ – Portable Begs for Forgiveness After Slapping Pastor [VIDEO]

Controversial Nigerian street-pop artist, Portable, has publicly apologized after a video surfaced showing him slapping a pastor who visited his bar to preach. The incident, which occurred a few days ago, has drawn widespread criticism from the public and religious figures alike.

In the video, Portable can be seen striking the pastor, an act that sparked outrage among netizens and pastors, with many calling for action against the singer for attacking a man of God.

In response to the backlash, Portable shared a video late Monday night addressing the incident. He attributed his actions to past personal experiences, explaining that he mistakenly thought the pastor had come to inflict spiritual harm upon him.

“Community issues are different from street issues,” Portable said in his video. “May God forgive me. I didn’t know he was a genuine man of God. If I had known, I wouldn’t have slapped him.”

The singer, who expressed remorse, further explained that his reaction stemmed from past trauma, mentioning that his sister had previously been harmed through a similar situation. He also acknowledged his own imperfections, saying, “I’m human, I’m not perfect. I’m also a child of God, and I seek His forgiveness.”

Despite his apology, the incident has continued to generate discussions online, with many waiting to see how religious leaders will respond to Portable’s plea for forgiveness.
