Nigerian music star Anthony Ebuka Victor, popularly known as Victony, has admitted that he has never performed on stage without consuming alcohol – a habit he now hopes to break during his ongoing Stubborn tour.
The Soweto crooner made the revelation during an interview with Behind The Prestige, where he described performing sober as a major personal challenge.
“I’m trying to do this tour so wow. It’s a big challenge. I have never been on stage without taking alcohol,” he confessed. “But [for this tour], I’m trying to see my fans clearly and truly connect with them. I just want to try.”
Victony said the decision is part of his effort to foster a deeper and more genuine connection with his audience during live performances. The artist’s openness has sparked conversations online, with many applauding his willingness to evolve and grow through vulnerability.
