Iyanya Dedicates Emotional Song to Victims of Benue Attacks
Nigerian Afrobeats artist, Iyanya, has released a heartfelt tribute to victims of recent herdsmen attacks in Benue State, where over 200 people were reportedly killed in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area.
The singer shared the tribute via a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), offering words of comfort and a prayer for divine intervention amid the crisis.
“I want to dedicate this song to the people of Benue State,” Iyanya said in the video. “It’s a trying time for the entire country because we all share in your pain. I pray that God comforts everyone who has lost a friend, a brother, a mother, a father, or a family member.”
He encouraged survivors and affected communities to hold on to faith, expressing hope that God would turn their grief into joy.
Iyanya, who is originally from Cross River State, added a caption alongside the video: “We are praying for the people of Benue.”
The tribute has since drawn praise from fans and social media users, with many thanking the singer for using his platform to shine a light on the tragic events and extend solidarity to grieving families.
