Iyanya Extends Gratitude to Calabar for the Safe Return of Mayorkun’s Necklace

Nigerian singer Iyanya has expressed his heartfelt thanks to the residents of Calabar for the safe return of Mayorkun’s second diamond chain, adorned with a bedazzled image of the artist’s face. The necklace was reportedly brought back to Hit FM Calabar after Mayorkun experienced theft during his performance at the Calabar Festival.

Iyanya, visibly appreciative of the positive outcome, shared a picture of the recovered jewelry on his social media platform. The heartwarming gesture from the people of Calabar follows Mayorkun’s public dissatisfaction and vow to never return to the state after the reported robbery of two expensive pieces of jewelry.

The ‘Betty Butter’ crooner had earlier expressed his displeasure and sent well wishes to other artists performing at Calabar’s festivals. In response, Iyanya, who hails from Cross River, offered compensation to anyone with information leading to the retrieval of the stolen pendants.

Taking to social media on December 21, 2023, Iyanya shared the news of the successful return of one of the necklaces, conveying his gratitude to the individual responsible for bringing it back. The necklace made its way back through Hit FM Calabar before reaching Iyanya in Calabar, marking a positive resolution to the incident.
