Jake Paul Announces Plans For Tommy Fury Rematch

Jake Paul may have thought his controversial boxing career was over when he was soundly beaten by Tommy Fury, however the Problem Child’s roadshow rolls on with the American announcing plans to fight Fury once more.

As reported on Marca, these rematch plans have come as a major surprise given the fact Paul has already booked his next fight… a clash with UFC legend Nate Diaz.

Whilst it represented a return to the area he is comfortable… boxing against non-trained boxers, Diaz carries a huge reputation for his work inside the octagon.

Jake Paul Wants to Avenge Fury Loss

Paul had a rematch clause inserted into the contract for his initial fight with Tyson Fury’s brother in Saudi Arabia, yet he elected not to pursue it as he wanted to fight Diaz.

The bout with Diaz is due to take place in Texas on August 5, however he published a video warning Tommy Fury about the future.

“I have been in the gym since the day I got back from Saudi,” Paul stated.

“I’ve been working out every single day, six days a week, filled with vengeance to come back and take what’s mine, because I know I can beat Tommy.

“That was the worst possible version of me, it just wasn’t my night, he was the better man, but I wanna come back and take what’s mine from that kid, Tommy, I hope you’re enjoying this victory.”

Quite what Paul is referring to when he talks about ‘what’s mine’ is unclear given the fact he had no belts of any note or standing, but it is obvious that he wants to face Tommy Fury again.

This fight would make business sense for both, given the eye-watering ability for YouTube boxers to make money in the current climate, although it will entirely depend on which direction Fury wants his professional career to go in.
