Jeezy Reveals Efforts Made in Failed Marriage, Acknowledges Therapy Couldn’t Rescue Relationship”

Atlanta rapper Jeezy recently opened up about the unravelling of his marriage to talk show host Jeannie Mai, acknowledging that their attempts at therapy couldn’t salvage the relationship.

In an hour-long interview with actress Nia Long to promote his new double album, “I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget,” Jeezy expressed his disappointment and sorrow regarding the breakup. He explained that despite their efforts, the marriage couldn’t be salvaged.

“This has not been an easy journey. I can tell you that I’m saddened, disappointed, and uneasy,” admitted Jeezy. “God has put me on a different path where I need to take care of myself, love myself, and thrive in the best situation after everything I’ve been through.”

The rapper disclosed that both he and Jeannie Mai had sought help through therapy to reconcile their differences, but unfortunately, their attempts were unsuccessful. Jeezy highlighted that he can only be responsible for his actions, expressing that he can’t expect others to do what he’s doing.

Even though details about the reasons for their separation have been kept private, Jeezy affirmed his enduring love and respect for Jeannie Mai. In a statement last month, he mentioned the decision to end the marriage was made with a heavy heart and requested privacy for their family to focus on healing.

Jeezy and Mai tied the knot in an intimate backyard ceremony at their Georgia home in 2021 and welcomed a daughter named Monaco in the following year. However, in September of this year, Jeezy filed for divorce, ending their two-and-a-half-year marriage, leaving fans shocked by the news.
