Jemima Osunde Reveals Three-Year Health Struggle Following Contaminated Set Meal
Nigerian actress Jemima Osunde has shared details of a prolonged health battle stemming from an incident three years ago when she consumed contaminated food while on a film set.
In a post on X.com on Thursday, the actress revealed she contracted Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori), a stomach-infecting bacterium, after eating food provided during the shoot. This led to her developing gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a chronic condition she has been battling ever since.
“I’ve never regretted anything the way I regret taking that job and going with them to Ibadan to shoot under their care,” Osunde wrote.
She described the impact of her condition, noting how it has significantly affected her daily life and health.
“Got H. pylori from set food and the aftermath GERD has left me fighting for my life the last three years,” she explained.
Osunde further lamented the toll the illness has taken on her gastrointestinal tract, describing it as her “greatest op.”
“The past month has really been something. Sigh. My own stomach is my greatest op. Actually, my entire GIT,” she added.
The actress’s candid revelation has drawn widespread support from fans and colleagues, many of whom have expressed their sympathy and offered prayers for her recovery.
