Johnny Depp’s New Film Director Maiwenn Le Besco is Being Accused of Assaulting a Journalist
Johnny Depp’s new film Jeanne du Barry is directed by Maiwenn Le Besco and recently he has been accused of assault by a journalist that was in a restaurant just a few weeks before the Cannes Film Festival where it would be seen publically for the first time.
The reported attack occurred in the seventh arrondissement in Paris, according to Edwy Plenel the editor of Medipart Magazine is suing Le Besco for an attack back in February where according to the police report filed on March 7th, the director grabbed the editor’s hair and spit on his face without saying a word.

Le Figaro reported the event ‘The woman then hastily left the restaurant without anyone being able to intervene given the speed of the action’ The restaurant staff corroborated the story by identifying the director.
Plenel’s lawyer, Pierre-Emmanuel Blard, spoke to the press saying that ‘The act is unique but is no less violent, and in a certain way traumatic even in the absence of physical damage. Even for this kind of act, there can be no impunity.’

Plenel claims that they have no problem whatsoever, however, Mediapart published some articles regarding the rape accusation against Le Besco’s ex-husband Luc Besson.
The movie is Johnny Depp’s return to the big screen after the highly publicized defamation trial against Amber Heard where he won and she was ordered by the court to pay the $15 million in damages.
Depp’s lawyers Benjamin Chew and Camille Vazquez claim that the actor just wants this painful chapter of his life to be completely over and would donate money to charity.
