Joy Mojisola Raimi Embarks on Miss World 2025 Journey in India, Flying Nigeria’s Flag High
Nigeria’s representative at the 72nd Miss World pageant, Joy Mojisola Raimi, has officially arrived in Telangana, India, to compete alongside over 100 contestants from around the world. More than a celebration of beauty, the event showcases purpose, culture, and global sisterhood—and Joy is stepping into that spotlight with grace, grit, and a heart for service.
At 24, Joy is a graduate of the University of Port Harcourt and the founder of The Love for Humanity Project, a community initiative committed to kindness, grassroots support, and restoring faith in humanity. Her participation marks Nigeria’s 41st entry at Miss World – a legacy that includes Agbani Darego’s historic win in 2001.
Since touching down in India, Joy has begun to share snapshots of her experience – from official ceremonies to cultural showcases. At the opening event, she wore a custom gown that paid tribute to Nigeria’s diverse traditions. Inspired by ceremonial Cross River attire and northern royalty, the outfit featured gold embroidery, coral beadwork, and cultural motifs from the Edo and Igbo regions.
The centerpiece of the look was a beaded gele, paired with a fan and horsetail whisk—symbols of authority and heritage. An embroidered map of Africa in green and red completed the ensemble, representing growth, unity, and resilience.
Joy described the Miss World experience as “the Olympics of pageants,” adding that she’s fully prepared to immerse herself in the celebration of identity, compassion, and womanhood.
During one of the early cultural outings, Joy joined fellow contestants for the Hyderabad Heritage Walk dressed in a vibrant asooke outfit, proudly flying Nigeria’s colours and carrying the nation’s spirit with her.
With weeks of activities, interviews, and service projects ahead, Joy’s journey is just beginning. And as she steps forward, she carries not only her personal dreams—but the collective hopes of a nation that continues to make its mark on the global stage.
