Kanye West Reignites Beef with Drake, Suggests Celestial Origins and “Rich Baby Daddy”

The feud between Kanye West and Drake has erupted once again, with West making bold claims about Drake’s connections and the spiritual nature of their rift. In a recent interview with Justin Laboy on The Download podcast, West suggested that Drake’s success is owed to British record executive Sir Lucian Grainge, CEO of Universal Music Group, whom he referred to as Drake’s “rich baby daddy.”

West implied that Drake’s $400 million deal with Universal Music Group came at the cost of his soul, insinuating a Faustian bargain with the devil. He remarked, “Drake has a rich baby daddy named Lucian and Universal. He’s like, ‘Man, my daddy got it!’ You know what I’m saying? ‘My daddy control the spins! My daddy got the DSPs!’ Drake has a rich baby daddy. Lucian work for the people who control the banks in Africa.”

Continuing on a more spiritual note, West suggested that their falling out had otherworldly origins, stating, “It cuts Drake’s soul. It’s like he signed his soul to the Devil to not be cool with me. This is his job, to go against God.”

Regarding his remix of Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” West described it as part of “the elimination of Drake,” aligning himself with Kendrick Lamar in his ongoing beef with Drake. The song, which debuted on The Download and later released on YouTube, contains direct jabs at Drake and J. Cole.

Drake, on the other hand, has responded with his own diss tracks, including “Taylor Made Freestyle,” where he incorporates digitally recreated voices of 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. This follows his previous diss track “Push Ups,” aimed at Kendrick Lamar and others.

As the feud escalates, fans eagerly await further developments in this ongoing saga between two of hip-hop’s biggest names.
