Kid Cudi Hospitalized with Broken Foot After Stage Jump Mishap at Coachella
Kid Cudi’s anticipated performance at Coachella took a dramatic turn as the rapper suffered a broken foot during his set, prompting an early end to his performance.
The incident occurred on Sunday (April 21) during Cudi’s performance at the renowned music festival in Indio, California. In an attempt to engage with fans, the Cleveland native leapt off the stage, but unfortunately, his landing didn’t go as planned.
Video footage captured the moment when Cudi, nearing the edge of the stage, appeared to lose his balance before taking the plunge from a height of over six feet, resulting in a hard landing on the ground below.
Following the mishap, Cudi remained on the ground in discomfort as security personnel rushed to his aid. Regrettably, he was unable to continue his set and had to cut it short.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) after the incident, Cudi shared that he had been taken to the hospital with a broken foot, expressing gratitude for the outpouring of concern and well-wishes from fans.
“Hey guys, so I broke my foot today at the show,” he tweeted. “Just leavin the hospital. Never broken a bone before so this is all a bit crazy. I wanna thank u all for ur concerns and well wishes!! I love yall man. I heard yall still ragin when I was offstage. Made me smile big.”
Cudi’s inclusion in Coachella’s lineup came as a last-minute addition, replacing Canadian singer AP Dhillon just five days before the festival’s second and final weekend. Despite the setback, Cudi delivered memorable performances of fan-favorite tracks like “Tequila Shots,” “Up Up & Away,” and “Memories” alongside David Guetta.
The rapper’s recovery will be closely watched as he prepares for his upcoming INSANO World Tour, slated to commence on June 28 in Austin, Texas, featuring support from artists like Pusha T, Jaden Smith, and EarthGang.
