American YouTuber and social media influencer, Logan Paul has revealed that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson once asked him to remove all content of them together.
Paul explained that after the Japan suicide forest controversy, The Rock made it clear that he did not have anything to do with him.
It should be recalled that when Paul was a YouTuber nack in 2017, he made a video in Japan’s Aokigahara forest, also known as the ‘suicide forest’ as dozens of people go there every year to take their own lives.
He and his friends were exploring the area when they came across a deceased man who had reportedly died by suicide, and while they were initially shocked they went on to make jokes about the situation.
The video had triggered more backlash than Paul could have ever imagined possible with Logan losing business deals and having his YouTube account temporarily demonetised.
Despite dropping a public apology and vowing to emerge a better person and learning from his mistake, Paul still still carries scars from the experience, especially falling out of favour with The Rock.
In a recent sit-down with fellow YouTuber True Geordie, Paul relived how his relationship with The ROck had developed from way back when he was still making Vines.
He went as far as talking about how he was scared to meet The Rock who ended up giving him a level of attention that got him excited.
He, however, delved into how the Japan controversy led to his fallout with The Rock in what he descried as the “saddest moments” of his life.
In gruelling details, detailed the experience to Geordie.
“After Japan happened, obviously found myself in a hole – rightfully so – that I had never been in before. [I was] extremely low mentally, and I got a call from my publicist who also repped Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and she’s like, ‘Hey Dwayne’s asked that you remove every picture and video that you’ve done with him and maybe in the future the relationship can be reconciled but for now he basically wants nothing to do with you,’ which I also understood.
“I get it. You know, I made a grotesque error and he has had things happen in his life where like a lot of people that incident affected him in a personal way.
“So I understood it and that was the other part… you sleep in the bed you make, right?
“But I just wish I’d gotten like a call or a text or something because I thought we had a healthy relationship, an open line of communication. And I was so sad that my hero wanted nothing to do with me. And I was sad because I understood it, I really f****d up.”
He continued: “I was so disappointed in myself, and so I vowed to get better, I vowed to change, time passed, I start doing well… I just wanted to be able to build a relationship with Dwayne that didn’t end up happening.”
