Kid Cudi Updates Fans on Post-Surgery Recovery, Says: ‘I’m Wolverine Now’
Kid Cudi recently shared an update on his recovery from foot surgery following a fall at Coachella, revealing his progress to fans on social media. The Cleveland-native artist, who underwent two surgeries in as many months, took to X (formerly Twitter) to respond to a fan’s query about his foot.
“It’s healing! Barely any scars from surgeries, fuckin unreal. I’m Wolverine now,” Cudi wrote, expressing his gratitude to Dr. Little at Cedars-Sinai for the excellent surgical work. Unlike his previous update in May, Cudi spared fans any gruesome images this time around.
The incident occurred in April when Cudi’s Coachella performance was cut short after he attempted to jump off the stage to mingle with fans but miscalculated the landing. A video captured the moment he stumbled and took a six-foot dive, crashing to the ground. The “Day ‘N’ Nite” hitmaker lay in pain as security rushed to assist him, forcing him to end his set prematurely.
Reflecting on the mishap, the 40-year-old rapper and singer acknowledged the lesson learned: “This is what happens when a 40-year-old man tries to prance around off stage like he’s 26. No more prancing around and jumping off stages.”
On May 9, Cudi showcased his new boot on Instagram, designed to stabilize his broken foot. He also shared X-rays highlighting the 10 screws required to set his foot in place, humorously noting, “I’m a cyborg now.”
Despite his initial recovery, Cudi had to undergo a second surgery less than two weeks later. Post-surgery, he shared photos on Instagram, showing himself in good spirits and giving two thumbs up. “Just finished my 2nd surgery. It was a success. Feelin’ good man!!” he captioned the post, adding emojis and a message of appreciation for his supporters.
Cudi’s resilience and positive attitude have been evident throughout his recovery journey, much to the encouragement and admiration of his fans.
