Lawsuit Filed Against Offset Over Alleged Assault on ComplexCon Security Guard

Offset, the renowned rapper and member of Migos, has found himself entangled in a lawsuit stemming from an alleged altercation during the 2021 ComplexCon event. This legal action comes after a security guard, Daveon Clark, filed a lawsuit against Offset and fellow rapper YRN Murk. The lawsuit includes charges of assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligence.

As per Radar Online, Clark, who served as a private security guard at the 2021 convention, claims that the incident occurred when YRN Murk was denied entry and subsequently spat on him. When Murk was pushed by other security personnel, he allegedly struck Clark. Subsequently, the lawsuit asserts that during the ensuing chaos, Offset purportedly “struck” the security guard.

Clark alleges suffering both physical and mental injuries due to the alleged assault and is seeking unspecified damages through the legal action.

Following the incident in 2021, Offset responded to media reports suggesting he was involved in a “brawl” at ComplexCon. The rapper clarified to Complex, stating, “I wasn’t fighting at ComplexCon. I stepped in to break up a fight caused by a booth’s security.”

Offset adamantly denied the narrative surrounding the incident, emphasizing his presence at ComplexCon was to support emerging brands and designers, highlighting the positive intent behind his attendance at the event.

Amid the legal matters, Offset has recently received positive recognition for his music. His latest album, “Set It Off,” released last month, secured the No. 5 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart. His wife, Cardi B, took to social media to express her pride and support for his accomplishments, acknowledging his resilience and determination to succeed despite leaving his label and starting anew.

In her post, she congratulated Offset for his achievements and hinted at her own forthcoming album, stating, “MY TURN,” which suggested a reference to her upcoming music. Cardi B recently revealed that her sophomore album is set to release “very soon,” although she clarified that it won’t be released this year.
