‘I’m More Talented Than Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy’ – Tiwa Savage
Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding the “Big 3” – Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy, who are widely recognized as Nigeria’s top-tier artists. Known for her impressive vocal prowess and contributions to the music scene, Savage made a bold claim about her position relative to these popular stars.
In a recent interview with The Beat 99.9 FM in Lagos, the singer expressed confidence in her abilities, suggesting she deserves recognition for her musical talent. When asked about her thoughts on joining the conversation as part of the elite “Big 3” or even “Big 4” in Nigerian music, Savage did not hesitate to share her view.
“Don’t get me started,” Savage responded. “If we are to go talent for talent, mic for mic, I am the big 1. If you take off the numbers [streams], and whatever you want to judge the big whatever with, you can’t see me on the mic. But again, it [the ranking] is not based on that [musical talent].”
The singer’s statement has sparked discussions among fans and industry insiders, especially as calls grow for artists like Rema and Asake to be added to the elite list alongside Tiwa Savage.
