LeBron James is the first active NBA player to be a billionaire
NBA star, LeBron James has officially become a billionaire while still actively playing as an active member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
With this, he becomes the first professional basketball player to achieve the feat as babsketball legend, Michael Jordan did not become a billionaire until his retirement.

According to Forbes magazine, in the course of his career, ‘The King’ as he is fondly called has earned more than $1.2 billion. However, about half of that sum will be deducted for settling his taxes.
Meanwhile, his nearly $385 million in salaries between the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers, have jointly earned him the apex spot as the highest paid active player in the NBA history.
The the key to the forward’s fortune is that in addition to dominating the ball in front of the backboard, he has managed to close deals that give him a stake in the sponsoring brands that approach him to propose him as an ambassador for their products or companies that wish to add him as a partner.
Some of these brands that he has closed deals with are pizza chain, Blaze Pizza, ridesharing giant Lyft and home fitness company Tonal.
