LG Introduces LG Radio+ for Smart TVs, Expanding Entertainment Options

LG Electronics has unveiled a new feature for its smart TVs, offering users a way to enjoy live radio, podcasts, and music without the need for a separate subscription. Dubbed LG Radio+, the ad-supported streaming service is now available for LG smart TVs running webOS 6 or higher.

Designed as an alternative to traditional music streaming apps like Spotify, LG Radio+ provides access to over 14,500 channels in the United States and more than 440 in South Korea, thanks to a partnership with Radioline. The service includes a variety of content, from music and news to sports and popular talk shows, such as The Joe Rogan Experience. Local stations are also featured, enhancing its appeal to diverse audiences.

Navigating LG Radio+ is user-friendly, with dedicated sections for trending music, live channels, and podcasts. Users can easily browse through the “On-Air” page for popular channels, explore podcasts, or check out the “Featured” page for real-time trending content.

The service integrates seamlessly with the LG ThinQ app, allowing users to control their listening experience from anywhere in the room without needing the remote. While currently limited to South Korea and the United States, LG has plans to expand LG Radio+ functionality to its Xboom speakers in 2025. A simple press of the “My” button will enable the feature, though a specific rollout timeline for this integration has yet to be announced.

For now, users can search for LG Radio+ in the Content Store or access it directly through the LG Magic Remote. While the service is ad-supported, LG positions it as a cost-effective way to enjoy a wide range of entertainment options without adding another subscription fee.

With this new offering, LG aims to make its smart TVs not just a hub for video content but also a versatile platform for audio entertainment, enhancing the overall user experience.
