Portable Blames Ex-Lover Queen Dami for Grammy Snub
Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that his former partner, Queen Dami, is the reason he has yet to win a Grammy Award.
Speaking in a recent interview with media personality Daddy Freeze, the “Zazu” crooner suggested that their relationship may have had spiritual implications for his career. He revealed that he sought divine intervention through Ifa prayers, asking for anything hindering his progress to be removed. Shortly after, Queen Dami, who is the former wife of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Adeyemi, exited his life.

Portable alleged that Queen Dami’s infidelity during their relationship negatively impacted his success.
“She [Queen Dami] is one of the reasons I don’t have a Grammy award, considering how much effort I put into my music,” he said. “She was not loyal and had sexual relations with other men. Usually, if I date a faithful woman, I will succeed, but if she is unfaithful, I experience setbacks. I believe I would have won a Grammy by now if she hadn’t been in my life.”
The couple’s breakup has been a subject of public attention, following a heated exchange on social media that led to their separation. Portable’s comments have added another layer to the controversy, stirring reactions from fans and critics alike.
