Lil Wayne Pays Homage to Missy Elliott in Latest Single “Kat Food”
New Orleans rap icon Lil Wayne, known to many as a deity of the hip-hop world, has once again displayed his affection for Missy Elliott by sampling one of her timeless classics in his latest single release.
On September 1st, 2023, Lil Wayne dropped “Kat Food,” a track that features a sample from Missy Elliott’s 2002 hit, “Work It.” Collaborating with producers Charlie Handsome, FNZ, and Rogét Chahayed, Weezy continues to impress his fans with a remarkable lyrical performance, maintaining the momentum of his successful 2023 releases.
As the title suggests, “Kat Food” doesn’t shy away from Wayne’s signature wordplay. The lyrics include lines like, “I’m walking ’round my house with jewellery on/ Diamonds in my mouth, I eat her out and now her pussy glowing/ She say she a eater, I’ma feed her like I’ve cooked before/ Ass, pussy, boobs, APB, yeah, I’m lookin’ for ’em.”
Missy Elliott’s “Work It,” produced by Timbaland, made its mark on her fourth album, “Under Construction,” and even soared to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
