Lil Wayne Reportedly Scraps Surprise 50 Cent Performance After Backstage Scuffle

In an unexpected turn of events, Lil Wayne, the renowned rapper, and musician, left the Crypto.com Arena moments before he was slated to perform as a special guest during 50 Cent’s Los Angeles show on Wednesday, August 30th. This incident occurred during the same show where 50 Cent allegedly struck a Power 106 personality with a microphone, potentially leading to felony charges, as reported by Page Six.

According to backstage sources, Lil Wayne was all set to join 50 Cent on stage when a member of 50 Cent’s crew inadvertently or intentionally pushed him backstage, leading to his sudden departure from the venue. The exact circumstances surrounding the push remain unclear.

An anonymous source backstage shared, “He just stormed out. He was in the building for about 20 minutes total.”

This isn’t the first time Lil Wayne has cancelled a live appearance at the last minute. In May, during the final date of his Welcome To Tha Carter Tour, he cancelled a concert mid-performance.

Lil Wayne’s appearance at the Los Angeles show at The Wiltern Theatre in Koreatown was highly anticipated by fans. The concert was also available for live streaming at a fee of $15 for those unable to attend in person. However, the show’s start time of 9 p.m. PDT was significantly delayed, causing frustration among attendees.

When Lil Wayne eventually took the stage, he sported a Kobe Bryant L.A. Lakers jersey, a purple and gold baseball cap, and stylish sunglasses. He kicked off his set with “Mr. Carter,” a track from his Grammy Award-winning 2008 album, Tha Carter III.

Throughout the evening, Lil Wayne delivered a thrilling performance, treating fans to a selection of his hits, including “Fireman,” “Hustler Musik,” “Drop the World,” “BM J.R.,” “Let the Built Build,” “I’m Single,” “Love Me,” “Lollipop,” and more. He even brought 2 Chainz on stage for a special performance of “Duffle Bag Boy.”

During a brief intermission, Lil Wayne temporarily left the stage, allowing his Young Money artists Lil Twist, Yaj Kader, and Allan Cubas to entertain the crowd. However, he returned abruptly, taking the microphone, and decided it was time to conclude the show, as he believed his artists were not receiving sufficient support from the audience.

Interestingly, Lil Wayne was also a special guest during Beyoncé’s Friday night stop on the Renaissance tour, which took place on September 1st. Unlike the earlier incident, he did not leave the stage despite experiencing sound problems, as reported by Revolt TV.

The abrupt departure from the 50 Cent show has left fans and industry insiders speculating about the circumstances and potential implications for future collaborations between Lil Wayne and 50 Cent.
