LL Cool J and Eminem Bring Hip-Hop Nostalgia to Life in ‘Murdergram Deux’ Video
LL Cool J and Eminem have teamed up to deliver a heavy dose of nostalgia with their new music video for “Murdergram Deux,” released on September 11. The video, directed by JakeTheShooter, takes fans on a trip down memory lane, revisiting iconic moments from hip-hop history.
Shot in Detroit, the video features LL Cool J recreating his legendary Bigger and Deffer (BAD) album cover from 1987. The rapper also nods to his classic “Going Back to Cali” visual, donning his signature bucket hat in a black-and-white scene. Meanwhile, Eminem honours Big Daddy Kane’s iconic Long Live the Kane album cover, solidifying the duo’s tribute to hip-hop’s golden era. The pair also pay homage to Death Row Records’ famous 1996 VIBE magazine cover.
“Murdergram Deux” serves as a single ahead of LL Cool J’s new album The Force, marking the first official collaboration between the rap legends. Over Q-Tip’s production, LL Cool J delivers gritty lyrics, “Give blessings to my disciples, professional I’m a sniper/ Like eight miles away, me and Marshall doing murders,” referencing Eminem and their dynamic duo.
Earlier this year, an unfinished version of the track leaked, much to LL’s frustration. He clarified in June, “It’s not A.I., but it’s not official… people just walk into the kitchen touching the rolls before they’re done.”
LL Cool J’s album The Force, released on September 6, is his first since 2013’s Authentic. It features a star-studded lineup, including Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Rick Ross, Saweetie, and Nas.
