Marvel Heroes Return in Explosive Fortnite “Absolute Doom” Season Trailer

Epic Games has unveiled the trailer for Fortnite’s upcoming Chapter 5, Season 4, titled “Absolute Doom,” set to launch on August 16. The new season promises the return of beloved Marvel characters, with an intense storyline centred around the infamous villain, Dr. Doom.

Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4: A Marvelous Comeback

The trailer showcases a dramatic narrative where Dr. Doom is seen orchestrating the escape of Mysterio from a maximum-security prison. The iconic villain has also established a formidable castle on the island, hinting at a new point of interest (POI) for players to explore.

As Doom’s nefarious plans unfold, Fortnite’s iconic character, Jonesy, dons Captain America’s uniform, using the shield to battle enemies. The season will also see the arrival of X-Men characters, including Cyclops, Colossus, and Jubilee, who team up with Jonesy and other Fortnite heroes to combat Doom’s forces. Fans were particularly excited by the appearance of “Peelverine,” a banana-themed Wolverine character, reenacting Logan’s legendary escape from the Weapon X facility.

Exciting New Gameplay Features

The trailer also teases new gameplay elements, starting with Captain America’s Shield, which players can wield to take down enemies or bulldoze through obstacles. Black Panther’s Claws make their debut as a close-combat weapon, ideal for melee encounters. Gwenpool, outfitted with parts of Tony Stark’s Iron Suit, will have players zipping through the map, using the Unibeam to unleash powerful attacks. War Machine also makes a splash, with his suit showcasing its heavy-duty firepower. Finally, Dr. Doom himself is seen unleashing a devastating energy beam against the other Marvel heroes, suggesting an epic showdown.

Battle Pass and New Rewards

The trailer’s description revealed that the Battle Pass for the Absolute Doom season will cost 950 V-Bucks, offering players rewards such as Gwenpool, War Machine, Peelverine, Emma Frost, Captain Jonesy, Mysterio, and Shuri. Additionally, Dr. Doom’s skin will be available through Battle Pass quests in September.

In a surprising twist, Fortnite has announced that Battle Pass items will no longer be exclusive, allowing players more opportunities to obtain them in the future. The season’s launch was also marked by a livestream with Disney, which included several exciting reveals, setting the stage for one of Fortnite’s most anticipated seasons yet.
