Method Man’s Daughter Follows in His Footsteps, Debuts First Rap Songs

Cheyenne, daughter of legendary Wu-Tang Clan member Method Man, is making waves in the hip-hop scene with her debut rap songs, signaling her intention to follow in her father’s footsteps.

Under the rap moniker “Chey,” Method Man’s daughter dropped her first track, the drill-inspired “Hair and Nails,” in January, followed by another release accompanied by a music video titled “Boujee & Ghetto.”

Despite her famous lineage, Chey is determined to establish herself through hard work rather than relying on her father’s connections. In a recent interview with Shaoliiin Entertainment, she emphasized the importance of putting in the effort and earning her success.

“A lot of people would say [that he could just make a call and put me on], but at the end of the day, you gotta put in the work,” Chey explained. “He could do that but he rather see me work for it and really push but he’s gonna support one thousand gajillion trillion percent. But he wants to see the work too.”

Meanwhile, a surprising revelation about the origin of Method Man’s stage name recently surfaced, courtesy of Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA. According to RZA, Method Man, originally known as Shakwon, adopted his famous moniker after recording the song “Method Man” for the group’s debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

Explaining the transition, RZA said, “Method Man was Shakwon until he made that song — Shakwon the Panty Raider. Then, after he made that song, everybody in the hood called him Method Man.”

The unexpected revelation shed light on the unique evolution of Method Man’s name, catching many fans off guard and prompting reactions of surprise and intrigue across social media platforms.

As Chey forges her own path in the music industry, she carries forward the Wu-Tang legacy while establishing herself as an artist with her own distinctive voice and style. With her debut tracks garnering attention and acclaim, she sets the stage for a promising career ahead, proving that talent and determination run deep in the Method Man family lineage.
