Miami Beach Revokes Diddy’s Key to the City Amid Legal Troubles
Miami Beach has officially rescinded the Key to the City awarded to American rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, following recent legal controversies surrounding him. The decision, which effectively severs ties with the musician, was led by Mayor Steven Meiner in a formal hearing held last week.
Diddy received the Key to the City in 2015 in recognition of his contributions to the music industry and his significant role in organizing the Revolt Music Conference in Miami Beach, which helped elevate the city’s status as a music and culture hub.
However, nine years after the honour, Diddy now faces serious federal allegations, including charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. The revocation marks a symbolic move by Miami Beach to distance itself from the embattled artist amid the ongoing legal proceedings.
