Mohbad Attempted Suicide Because of Issues With Naira Marley’s Record Label – Bella Shmurda

Nigerian music luminary Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, popularly recognized as Bella Shmurda, has shared a sobering account of the challenges faced by his colleague Mohbad, shedding light on an episode where the latter contemplated suicide due to the turmoil stemming from his former affiliation with the record label Marlian Music.

Recollections trace back to a point in time when Mohbad publicly voiced his grievances against Naira Marley, the head of Marlian Music, accusing him of instructing his associates to physically assault him. This heated incident unfolded on social media platforms last year, and subsequently, Mohbad severed his ties with the record label.

During an insightful conversation with well-known media personality Chude Jideonwo, Bella Shmurda disclosed that Mohbad’s ordeal took a heavy toll on him, leading to a moment of desperation. Bella Shmurda recounted, “There was a moment when Mohbad and I shared an apartment. He was grappling with the overwhelming issues he encountered with his former record label, Marlian Music. It got to a point where he contemplated leaping from a window on an upper floor due to the distress.”

Bella Shmurda went on to describe the harrowing incident further, sharing that Mohbad’s life was spared through the intervention of friends who rallied around him. The pivotal role his girlfriend played in this context was highlighted, as she entered the room and discovered him perched precariously on the window ledge.
