Mr Macaroni Opens Up on Financial Struggles, Reveals He Was Scammed and Fell into Debt
Popular comedian and actor, Mr Macaroni, has shared details of his financial challenges, revealing that he was a victim of both a scam and a failed investment in 2021.
Taking to his X handle on Thursday, the content creator disclosed that he lost all his savings and had to borrow money to fulfill his financial obligations, eventually falling into a debt of over N500 million.
“Sometime around 2021/2022, I was scammed and also made a failed investment that wiped out all my savings. It was a tough time, but I told no one. I could be struggling and still helping others with their problems because I don’t like to share mine,” he wrote.
He admitted that his financial recklessness, coupled with his generosity, worsened his situation.
“I make millions, so I never imagined borrowing money with interest would be an issue. But I got too comfortable, not realizing I was using my earnings to pay off interest. Please don’t borrow money! But if you must, be responsible,” he advised.
The actor described 2024 as a defining year in his career but also his toughest, as he struggled under the weight of his financial crisis.
Mr Macaroni also mentioned that his frustration deepened after being betrayed by someone he considered “a friend and sister.”
Despite these setbacks, he expressed gratitude for the unwavering support of his family and friends, stating that he now feels better than he has in the past three years.
He concluded by sharing his story to encourage others going through difficult times, urging them to remain resilient.
