Nas and 50 Cent (1)

Nas Credits 50 Cent With Changing the Whole Rap Game During L.A Show

Hip-hop fans attending 50 Cent’s Final Lap Tour at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles were in for a major surprise this week when the G-Unit rapper brought out Nas as a special guest during his performance.

The arena was buzzing as 50 Cent’s energetic show took the stage by storm. The surprise appearance of Nas, often referred to as Escobar, added an extra layer of excitement to the event. The duo treated the crowd to a performance of their collaborative tracks “Hate Me Now” and “Made You Look.”

Before leaving the stage, Nas took a moment to honour 50 Cent for his immense influence on the rap game. He acknowledged how 50 Cent’s groundbreaking 2003 debut album, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” transformed the landscape of hip-hop.

“When this man dropped, the whole rap game changed,” Nas declared, capturing the audience’s attention. He continued by giving shoutouts to fellow artists Tony Yayo and Uncle Murda, expressing his appreciation for their shared bond.

The recent on-stage collaboration between 50 Cent and Nas marks a significant reunion between the two artists. Their joint performance on “Office Hours,” a track from Nas’s “Magic 2” album released in July, marked their first collaboration in over two decades. Their prior collaborations include “Too Hot” and “Who U Rep With” from 50 Cent’s “Guess Who’s Back?” mixtape.

Reflecting on their history, 50 Cent fondly remembered touring with Nas early in his career, a period that preceded the massive success of “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” He recalled how Nas’s interest was piqued by 50 Cent’s “How to Rob” record, leading to a partnership that saw him joining Nas on tour.

“Nas, when I first interacted with him, he was like, ‘Yo, who’s that?'” 50 Cent shared in an interview with XXL. “He just wanted me to be around and shit like that. Then, he let me come on tour with him, and he didn’t have to do that.”

50 Cent also noted Nas’s unique intelligence and wisdom during their time on tour. He highlighted how Nas’s introspective behaviour, which involved reading books while on tour buses, demonstrated a deep awareness beyond his music.

The two artists, both originating from Queens, New York, have shared a long history of camaraderie. Their recent collaboration and on-stage reunion further cement their legacy within the rap community, reminding fans of the dynamic and influential era they contributed to.

As the music world continues to celebrate their union, fans are left reminiscing about the past and eagerly awaiting what future collaborations may bring between these two hip-hop giants.
