NBA YoungBoy Released from Prison Amid Ongoing Legal Battles

American rapper Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, popularly known as NBA YoungBoy, has been released from prison after serving time on federal charges.

The news of his release broke on Monday, March 24, 2025, with DJ Akademiks, a well-known Jamaican-American podcaster, sharing the update on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

“Looks like NBA YoungBoy has been released from federal prison and either transferred to a halfway house or is headed home,” Akademiks posted.

NBA YoungBoy had been serving a 27-month sentence on federal charges before pleading no contest to an additional 36 charges in 2024. As part of a plea deal, Judge Spencer Walsh reduced the felony charges to Class A misdemeanors and imposed a $25,000 fine instead.

The rapper’s legal troubles have been ongoing, but his release marks a significant development in his case. Fans and industry figures are now awaiting further updates on his next steps, including any potential return to music.
