Ne-Yo has garnered comparisons to Nick Cannon following his recent revelation about the size of his family, which comes a year after facing cheating allegations.
The rapper, known for hits like ‘So Sick,’ surprised fans by sharing a rare photo on Instagram featuring him with his seven children, prompting many to draw parallels to TV host Nick Cannon’s brood of 12 youngsters.
Ne-Yo’s followers expressed their surprise, with one comment stating they had “no idea” he had seven children, and another suggesting he was catching up to Nick in terms of family size.
Ne-Yo shares daughter Madilyn, 12, and son Mason, 11, with his ex-fiancée Monyetta Shaw. He is also a father to children Shaffer Chimere Jr, seven, Roman Alexander-Raj, five, and two-year-old Isabella Rose from his previous marriage to Crystal Renay.
Crystal had accused Ne-Yo of cheating with multiple women during their nearly decade-long relationship, including fathering a child with another woman. They finalized their divorce in February, and shortly after, Ne-Yo sought parental rights for his two youngest children, Braiden and Brixton, with his then-girlfriend Sadé Jenea.
On the other hand, Nick Cannon had twins Monroe and Moroccan, now 12, with his ex-wife Mariah Carey in 2011. He went on to have an additional 10 children with five different women, including sons Golden, six, and nine-month-old Rise, as well as daughter Powerful, two, with his ex Brittany Bell. Nick also welcomed twin boys Zion and Zillion, daughter Beautiful, and sons Legendary and Onyx with other partners. Sadly, Nick also experienced the loss of his son Zen to brain cancer at just five months old in December 2021.
