New Series ‘Behind the Crime’ Explores Nipsey Hussle Murder Case

The tragic and untimely murder of rap icon Nipsey Hussle is the central focus of a new series, “Behind the Crime,” which delves into the inner workings of high-profile criminal cases.

The debut episode of “Behind the Crime” premiered on Wednesday, September 20, shedding light on the 2019 killing of the Los Angeles native. The series takes an in-depth look at “the murder trial, story, and case” of Nipsey Hussle, providing viewers with an unfiltered view of the justice system through real case footage.

Produced as a collaboration between Fox’s Tubi and Dan Abrams’ Law & Crime, the series aims to captivate audiences with gripping cases. In the case of Nipsey Hussle, the program explores the murder trial of his killer, Eric Holder Jr., who was sentenced to 60 years to life in prison by a Los Angeles judge in February. Holder was convicted of fatally shooting the rapper after a brief confrontation outside Nipsey’s South L.A. clothing store. The motive behind the attack was allegedly Nipsey’s accusation that Holder was a snitch.

Nipsey Hussle’s legacy endures through his family. He is survived by his partner, Lauren London, and their six-year-old son, Kross, born roughly three years after the couple started dating. He also leaves behind a 13-year-old daughter, Emani, from a previous relationship.

Reflecting on her partner’s tragic death earlier this year, London shared her thoughts with PEOPLE magazine, emphasizing the ongoing challenges of healing. She mentioned that healing is a process with ups and downs, stating, “It is up and down, side to side, all over the place. You know what I mean? And with each new level, there’s something else.”

In August, Lauren London posted a heartfelt message on what would have been Nipsey Hussle’s 38th birthday. Taking to Instagram, she shared her love for him with a simple message, “Honoring the day you blessed the Earth with your presence. Forevermore. I love you,” accompanied by his signature blue heart and checkered flag emoji.
