Nicki Minaj Refuses to Perform Hit Single ‘Starships’ Anymore, Says: ‘I Don’t Like It’
Nicki Minaj, the celebrated Queens rapper, has once again voiced her disapproval of her hit single “Starships” and declared that she will no longer include the song in her performances.
During a New Year’s Eve celebration at E11EVEN in Miami on December 31, Minaj, known for her dynamic stage presence, took a definitive step when her DJ started playing “Starships.” After delivering a few lackluster lines, she interrupted the song, stating, “Sike, sike, sike. I don’t perform that song no more, y’all! I don’t like it! What y’all want me to do?”
This isn’t the first time Minaj has expressed her discontent with “Starships.” In a 2020 Q&A panel with Pollstar Live, she openly questioned her decision to create the 2012 song and revealed her regret over recording “Anaconda” in 2014.
