Nicki Minaj Sued for Allegedly Damaging Borrowed Jewelry – Report
Reports have surfaced indicating that Nicki Minaj is facing a lawsuit over allegations of damaging borrowed jewelry from Roseark Jewelry during a public appearance.
According to TMZ’s report on June 6, Roseark Jewelry is taking legal action against Nicki for unpaid bills. The California-based jewelry store claims that Nicki Minaj’s stylist, Brett Alan Nelson, borrowed several pieces of jewelry on her behalf and failed to return them in the expected condition.
It is alleged that Nelson, who was responsible for ensuring the jewelry’s safekeeping, signed a contract with Roseark, granting Minaj permission to utilize their jewelry for an undisclosed event.
The agreement stipulated that Nelson would return the items within a week and assume responsibility for any damages incurred while they were under his care. However, complications arose following the agreed-upon return date.
Roseark claims that Nelson not only failed to meet the deadline for returning 66 pieces of jewelry but also returned them with visible damage, particularly a leaf ring and a pair of earrings.
In response, Roseark Jewelry issued an invoice to Nelson amounting to $26,239.50, along with accrued interest. Despite reaching out to Minaj and Nelson multiple times, the jewelry store asserts that they have yet to receive payment.
Nicki Minaj’s attorney, Jordan Siev, dismisses Roseark Jewelry’s claims as a publicity stunt and denies Minaj’s responsibility for the alleged damages.
Siev stated, “We have not been presented with any evidence that any of the jewelry at issue was damaged by Nicki. This lawsuit is nothing more than an ordinary insurance claim by the jeweler designed to generate publicity for itself and extract a payment to which it is not entitled. We will defend the lawsuit vigorously.”
A source close to Minaj supports her stance, asserting that all borrowed items were returned within the agreed timeframe.
The representative also mentioned that the jewelry store raised concerns about a missing stone after retrieving the items. As of now, Nicki Minaj has not commented publicly on this matter.
