Nigerian Couple Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube Make History on Love Island UK

Nigerian couple Josh Oyinsan and Mimii Ngulube have made history as the first black couple to win the popular British reality TV dating show, Love Island. The pair triumphed in the eleventh season of the show, beating out strong competition from other contestants.

In a closely watched finale, Josh and Mimii edged out Welsh couple Nicole Samuel and Ciaran Davies, who were the runners-up. Fellow contestants Matilda Draper and Sean Stone secured third place, while another Nigerian couple, Ayo Odukoya and Jessica Spencer, finished in fourth.

Host Maya Jama revealed the results on Monday, noting that Josh and Mimii received the highest percentage of public votes, securing their victory. The couple walked away with a £50,000 cash prize.

Josh, a 29-year-old Nigerian-British footballer and model, and Mimii, a 24-year-old mental health nurse and actress, shared their excitement about their future plans. Josh expressed his eagerness to spend more time with Mimii outside the show’s environment and looked forward to meeting her family and friends. The win marks a significant moment in the show’s history, celebrating the diversity and success of the couple.
