Nike to Launch First U.S. ‘Jordan World of Flight’ Store in Philadelphia
Nike is set to introduce its inaugural Jordan World of Flight store in the United States, with plans to open the exclusive destination for Michael Jordan-branded sneakers and apparel in Philadelphia. The announcement comes as part of Nike’s strategic expansion of its iconic Jordan retail concept.
The forthcoming store, spanning 7,000 square feet, will be dedicated solely to showcasing Jordan Brand merchandise. This move marks a significant step in Nike’s retail strategy, bringing the celebrated legacy and future of basketball culture to the heart of Philadelphia.
Initially introduced in Milan, Italy, in December 2022, followed by a Tokyo location in March last year, Jordan World of Flight stores serve as premier destinations for enthusiasts of the iconic Jordan Brand. With no prior U.S. locations publicly disclosed, the Philadelphia establishment is poised to be among the first of its kind in the country.
Exclusive to Jordan World of Flight stores are a comprehensive range of Jordan Brand apparel and footwear, curated to celebrate the brand’s rich heritage and ongoing influence in the world of basketball and street culture.
To transform the selected historic two-story building into the Jordan World of Flight experience, Nike is seeking approval to enhance the facade, preserving its original character while integrating modern design elements and functionalities. The proposed updates are slated for review during today’s meeting of the Philadelphia Historical Commission’s Architectural Committee.
Gerardo Pons, representing Nike, emphasized the company’s commitment to respecting the building’s historical integrity while enhancing its appeal and functionality. However, Nike has not disclosed an official opening date for the store, leaving eager fans in anticipation of the grand unveiling.
