Odumodublvck Reflects on BET Awards Nomination, Upcoming Projects, and His Musical Journey

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, a member of the Anti-World Gangsters, has expressed immense gratitude after receiving a nomination for the prestigious BET Hip-Hop Awards. Hailing from Abuja, the rapper is one of the few Nigerian artists in the running for the highly sought-after award, marking a significant milestone in his career.

After years of grinding in the underground scene and releasing three albums, Odumodublvck achieved mainstream success in 2022 with his hit single Picanto, featuring Zlatan. His contribution to Psycho YP’s Bando Diaries also helped propel him into the spotlight. His unique sound and growing influence have even earned him recognition from English Premier League club Arsenal.

Now nominated in the “Best International Flow” category at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Odumodublvck joins the ranks of global stars like Stefflon Don. The category has previously honoured rap icons such as Dave, Nasty C, Stormzy, and Ladipoe. Speaking in an interview with NotJustOK, the rapper expressed his excitement and appreciation for the recognition. “I feel blessed, that’s what it is. Simple and short, I feel blessed and grateful,” he shared.

Odumodublvck credited standout tracks like Dog Eat Dog, Blood on the Dance Floor, MC Oluomo, Commend, and Declan Rice for securing his nomination. He highlighted a particular line from Declan Rice: “Everytime I come, I go push them to the curb,” calling it one of his best and most distinctive verses. He believes that his blend of rap and melody, which sets him apart from traditional rappers, played a key role in his nomination.

When asked about his chances of winning, Odumodublvck remained humble yet optimistic. He acknowledged the strong competition from artists like SDM and Leys MC from France, Racionais MCs and Budah from Brazil, and UK stars Ghetts, Bashy, and Stefflon Don. “My chances are equal with everybody, I guess. That’s why they put all of us there,” he said.

In addition to the BET nomination, Odumodublvck revealed his next musical endeavour—a joint project titled Nothing’s Changed with the Anti-World Gangsters, set for release by the end of the year. He explained that the title reflects his journey with his long-time crew, emphasising that despite his success, their bond remains the same. This project will serve as a prelude to his much-anticipated album Industry Machine, which fans are eagerly awaiting.

As Odumodublvck’s star continues to rise, his nomination at the BET Hip-Hop Awards and upcoming projects signal a new chapter in his already impressive career.
