Odumodublvck Tells Blaqbonez to Quit Claiming ‘Best Rapper’ Title
Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck, born Tochukwu Ojogwu, has publicly called out fellow artist Blaqbonez, urging him to stop declaring himself as the best rapper in the country.
The two hip-hop stars have been locked in a growing rivalry that recently boiled over following the release of Blaqbonez’s new track “Who’s Really Rapping”, featuring A-Q, where he appeared to take shots at Odumodublvck.
Addressing the controversy in an interview on Jusmen 105.7 FM, Odumodublvck criticised Blaqbonez for what he described as a disrespectful claim.
“Do you know what it means to call yourself the best rapper in Nigeria?” he said. “Stop joking. You’re not the best rapper. M.I is the best rapper. Vector is the best rapper.”
He also questioned Blaqbonez’s credibility in the rap scene, pointing to his lack of nominations at major award shows. “If you were the best rapper, you would have won Best Rap Album at the Headies. You weren’t even nominated for Best Rap Single,” he said.
Odumodublvck went on to acknowledge the legacies of established Nigerian rap icons like Phyno, Olamide, Vector, M.I, and Modenine, asserting that respect should be given to those who have built lasting careers.
“I’m not better than Phyno as a rapper,” he said. “So for me to claim that title, I would have to prove it first. But if you haven’t, stop saying it. It’s annoying.”
He concluded with a warning: “Stop lying to the kids that you’re the best. Nobody’s booking you for shows. You’re not a bad artist, you’re talented. But don’t use insecurity to shut doors for others.”
The war of words has stirred further conversation among fans and hip-hop lovers, with many weighing in on who truly holds the crown in Nigeria’s evolving rap scene.
