Oleksandr Zinchenko Leaves Manchester City Pre-Season Camp For Medical With Arsenal
Manchester City left-back, Oleksandr Zinchenko has taken off from Manchester City’s pre-season camp and is currently on his way to Orlando to undergo a medical as he closes in on a move to Arsenal.
According to a report by The Athletic, Arsenal are in the process of finalising a move for Zinchenko after reaching an agreement in principle with the 25-year-old on a four-year contract.
Arsenal’s offer is said to be worth an initial £30 million, along with an additional £2 million in achievable add-ons ($36 million total).
Arsenal Sporting Director, Edu is scheduled to arrive in Orlando today to help finalise the deal as Zichenko looks poised to become Arsenal’s fifth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Marquinhos, Matt Turner, Fabio Vieira and Gabriel Jesus.
Despite operating in the midfield position for his country, Zinchenko has mostly been used by Guardiola at left-back. While that is a specific area of the pitch where Arsenal have been looking to strengthen, his general versatility holds an endearing appeal.
