Paul Okoye Criticizes Joe Igbokwe Over Comments on P-Square Split

Paul Okoye, also known as Rudeboy and one half of the now-defunct musical duo P-Square, has publicly criticized All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain Joe Igbokwe for his remarks on the group’s recent split.

The singer confirmed that P-Square, consisting of Paul and his twin brother Peter, has separated again, just three years after their reunion in 2021 following their initial split in 2016. In response, Joe Igbokwe took to Facebook to express his disappointment, lamenting the brothers’ inability to resolve their differences despite their familial bond. He criticized their personal lives and questioned why they couldn’t manage their relationships, success, and emotions.

Igbokwe wrote: “So shameful that two twin brothers Paul and Peter cannot work together, cannot love one another, they cannot trust each other, they cannot think together, they cannot reason together, they cannot forgive each other, they cannot manage their wives, they cannot manage their success story, they cannot control their emotions, they cannot manage their internal contradictions, even their wives could not help matters, what about their parents, their brothers and sisters, their Nnaochie? etc. This is a shame.”

He continued, expressing frustration over the situation and questioning the role of family elders, stating, “It pains me to no end. Now, are there no elders in the family? This is success without brains. Education without character. Make shame catch us small na. When Gold rusts what will Iron do? Ndi ara akwu eke. Awon werey.”

Paul Okoye responded to these comments on his Instagram, rebuking Igbokwe for his critique. He called out the APC figure, accusing him of being foolish and suggested that he should focus on the country’s issues, which he believes Igbokwe and his party contributed to.

“Joe Igbokwe, your papa! Elder wey mumu! Focus on the country wey you put mouth scatter! People are hungry!” Okoye retorted.

The exchange highlights the ongoing tensions and public scrutiny surrounding the Okoye brothers’ relationship and the challenges they face both personally and professionally.
