Portable Sets His Eyes on Grammy Awards After Headies Snub

Portable, the Nigerian music sensation who rose to fame in 2021 with his hit single “Zazoo Zeh,” has once again stirred the music scene with his recent song release. The track, which features Olamide and Poco Lee, propelled Portable to stardom and significantly expanded his reach.

Since his breakthrough, Portable has continued to produce music and offer the public glimpses of his personality. Known for his bold and extroverted nature, he hasn’t been immune to controversies along the way.

One of the most notable controversies involving Portable occurred in 2022 when he received two nominations at the prestigious Headies Awards, alongside fellow nominees. In response to not winning an award, Portable took to social media to issue threats directed at both his fellow nominees and the Headies Awards organizers. As a consequence of his threatening remarks, Portable was disqualified from the Headies Awards, a decision that appeared to have left a lasting animosity between him and the awards show.

Following the 2023 Headies Awards, held in Atlanta, Portable resurfaced with a new song shared on social media. In this latest track, he takes a subtle jab at the renowned Nigerian awards. Portable asserts that he stands above the Headies Awards in stature, hinting at his disdain for the accolades. He draws parallels to legendary rapper 2Pac, who never won a Grammy but left an indelible mark in the music industry. Portable’s lyrics suggest that he is not rushing the creative process and emphasizes the importance of divine timing, indicating that he’s in no hurry to secure awards.

Portable’s music and public statements continue to keep him in the spotlight, and his recent track has once again ignited discussions among fans and the music community.
