Rick Ross Explains Why 2Pac, Biggie, and Jay-Z Are Top 3 Rappers

In a recent episode of the Adin Live show, rapper and MMG boss Rick Ross opened up about his top three favourite rappers, shedding light on the reasons behind his choices and offering valuable insights for the younger generation.

When asked by the popular YouTuber about his top three rappers, Rick Ross wasted no time in declaring, “That’s Big, that’s Pac, and that’s Hov,” referring to The Notorious B.I.G., Tupac Shakur, and Jay-Z. Ross emphasized that these three iconic figures had the most significant impact on the hip-hop scene, as they were the pioneers of the first generation of artists who achieved both success and wealth.

Ross explained, “These are the n-ggas that we watched get rich. Jay, Puff, that was really the first generation that we watched get rich. Because we’ve seen artists that were hugely successful, but were they extremely wealthy? We’re not sure.”

The Biggest Bawse has been vocal about his admiration for Tupac, even taking a humorous jab at Jada Pinkett Smith for revealing details about the late rapper’s health during her memoir press tour. Ross vented, “Let 2Pac rest in peace,” and playfully struggled with the pronunciation of Alopecia, the hair-loss condition that both Jada Pinkett Smith and Tupac allegedly shared.

Ross also recalled a pivotal moment in his career when Jay-Z imparted valuable advice during a lunch meeting. The rapper emphasized the importance of focusing on records that work rather than writing to every beat he liked. Ross credited Jay-Z’s guidance for elevating his skills as a writer and artist, leading to a significant boost in his success within the rap game and setting the stage for his lucrative business ventures.

Reflecting on the advice he received from Jay-Z, Ross concluded, “It took me to another level as a writer, another level as an artist. The amount of work I was putting out was next level. So you gotta ask yourself, are you ready to digest the knowledge or you just want to look at this watch at the table?”
