Rico Nasty Describes Twerking Requests From Fans as “Rude and Disrespectful”
American rapper and singler, Rico Nasty (born Maria-Cecilia Simone Kelly) has come out to describe the demands of fans asking her to twerk whenever she performs on stage as rude and disturbing.
In a recent interview with XXL, the rapper couldn’t conceal her irritation at fans repeatedly demanding that she twerks every single time she mounts the stage to perform.
She added that before now, twerking has never been part of her signature moves and explained that she finds this upsetting and offensive.
“This is probably the worst thing that you could put up while a female rapper is performing, even if she is gonna twerk… This is so disrespectful. That’s not what I do. You go on my Instagram right now. Do I have videos doing this?”
She went further to explain that she has no issues with female acts who enjoy twerking on stage but was quick to add that twerking has never been part of her brand.
