Bayern goalkeeper and German international, Manuel Neuer has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Bayern Munich till 2024.
It should be recalled that barely three weeks ago, fellow German and Bayern forward, Thomas Muller had equally put pen to paper to extend his stay at Bayern for another two years.
Before now, there have been reports pointing to a level of hesitation from Neuer in signing a new contract stemming from some specific details in his requests to the club. However, all these appear to have been sorted out, which eventually prompted him to sign a contract extention.
As expected, he looks forward to lifting many more trophies with the club with a particular interest in the biggest trophy across Europe, the UEFA Champions League.
“I’m very glad that my path at FC Bayern will continue. We will again have a very good team, with which we can play for all titles,” said Neuer. As a goalkeeper, captain and key player, I want to be a decisive factor in our major goals. I want to extend our league winning streak and compete for the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League titles.”
