Nigerian music star Rudeboy has released a new single titled Billo$, further cementing his reputation as one of Afrobeats’ most enduring hitmakers. The track, which dropped under his label Fire Department Inc., marks another addition to his 2024 catalogue, following earlier releases like Feelings and Winning.
Known offstage as Paul Okoye, Rudeboy – one-half of the iconic P-Square duo – continues to evolve as a solo artist while maintaining the energetic, street-inspired sound that defined his early career. Billo$ embraces themes of success and wealth, laced with vibrant rhythms and an infectious hook that nods to high-end living.
The track opens with the catchy refrain “Billo billios… billo billios…,” a playful ode to financial success, with cheeky references such as “steady billy gating” – a clear nod to billionaire tech mogul Bill Gates. Produced by Lordsky, the single blends rich percussion and pulsating basslines to create a sound tailor-made for both the streets and the dance floor.
