Sabinus Speaks on Heartbreak, Says He Regrets Gifting Former Partner a Car
Popular Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, widely known as Sabinus, has shared details of a painful relationship experience, revealing that a former partner left him despite costly gestures made in the name of love.
Sabinus made the comments during a recent livestream with TikToker Sandra Benede, where he described love as “cruel” and said he could relate to the emotional struggles currently faced by fellow TikTok personality Peller following his breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis.
According to the comedian, he has experienced a similar situation in the past. He recalled gifting a former lover a Range Rover, only for the relationship to eventually end, a decision he said he now regrets.
Sabinus also referenced Peller’s recent public emotional outbursts and a serious car accident linked to the aftermath of the breakup, urging Nigerians not to judge the influencer too harshly. He stressed that heartbreak can push people into difficult emotional states.
“Love can be very cruel,” Sabinus said during the livestream, explaining that his own experience had taught him how deeply emotional pain can affect people. He added that his past experience helped him understand what Peller is currently going through.
The comedian’s comments come weeks after he publicly confirmed the end of his marriage. In December 2025, Sabinus announced during a TikTok livestream that his marriage to his wife, Ciana Chapman, had ended.
Sabinus and Chapman, who share a child together, tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2023. Their marriage lasted slightly over a year before coming to an end.
