Search Continues for Luis Diaz’s Kidnapped Father in Colombia

Family members of Liverpool midfielder, Luis Diaz, continue to be in anguish as the search for his father, who was kidnapped in their hometown in Colombia, persists.

The Defense Minister of Colombia, Ivan Velasquez, announced a reward amounting to 200 million Colombian pesos (approximately £40,000) for any individuals providing crucial information leading to the safe rescue of Luis Diaz’s father and the arrest of the perpetrators behind the abduction.

Colombia’s armed forces, the Fuerzas Militares de Colombia, detailed their strategies for locating Luis Diaz’s missing father. Reports suggest that a joint operation between the military’s special forces and the national police is underway to track down the kidnapped individual.

In response to the distressing situation, Colombia’s President shared his statement regarding the missing person.

“With the soccer player Luis Díaz, we have maintained contact through the Government of the National Police. His mother was recovered yesterday, and we have all the disposition; all the public force has been deployed so that the search for his father continues.”

Following the ongoing ordeal, Luis Diaz was absent from Liverpool’s recent Premier League match against Nottingham Forest over the weekend.
