Recently released images from the production by What Kept Me Up showcase Seun Kuti’s electrifying performance, promising an engaging portrayal that extends beyond the realm of music to capture the intensity of his grandfather’s role during that era.
Scripted by Olisa Eloka for Adonis Production, “77: The Festac Conspiracy” delves into the life of a disgruntled ex-serviceman who receives an invitation to join a movement aimed at challenging the political status quo on the African continent. The film’s art direction, handled by Pat Nebo, further hints at the rich cultural tapestry that it weaves.
Set against the backdrop of a significant historical event that unfolded from January 15 to February 12, 1977, in Lagos, Nigeria, the movie boasts a talented cast that includes Ramsey Nouah, Rita Dominic, Daniel K Daniel, Ibinabo Fibresima, and Soibifaa Dokubo.
