Blackface Accuses Olamide and Asake of Song Theft

Veteran singer, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, known as Blackface, has made allegations of song theft against YBNL boss, Olamide, and his artist Asake. During an episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, the former Plantashun Boiz member claimed that Olamide had plagiarized many songs in his career.

Blackface stated, “Olamide and Asake steal songs. Olamide has stolen many songs in his career. He jacked ‘Don’t Stop’ from me, my song ‘Killa’.”

He further accused Wizkid and Burna Boy of stealing their collaborative hit song ‘Ginger’ from him, insisting that ‘Ginger’ was inspired by his song ‘Twist & Turn’. Blackface also claimed that other artists not only used his lyrics but also appropriated the sounds he had created.

In contrast, he mentioned that when he wanted to use the beat from P-Square’s ‘Do Me’ for his song ‘Erima’, he obtained permission from the producer, Joe.

Despite his accusations, Blackface expressed a willingness to write songs for Nigerian artists, especially Davido, if they approached him properly. He also shared his desire to collaborate with Tiwa Savage, though he mentioned that she has not responded to his attempts to connect over the years.
