Wizkid Announces Extended Hiatus from Music, Taking a Break of Up to Five Years
Renowned Nigerian music icon Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has surprised fans with the announcement of an extended break from the music industry.
Via a series of Instagram posts shared on Sunday, Wizkid revealed his decision to take a significant hiatus, signalling a break that could span up to four to five years.
“Back in 4 years, make una papa chop him money small or maybe five or I fit still go dey play ball now. Or make I start dey play golf, Fifa or wrestling b*tch! All of una dey craze! Everybody dey mad,” he shared.
Addressing his fans with candour, the music sensation expressed his hopes for their well-being. He encouraged everyone to take the time to care for their physical and mental health and spend valuable moments with their loved ones.
The surprise announcement arrives after Wizkid recently cancelled several music performances due to the passing of his mother, signalling a poignant and emotional period for the artist.
